Microsoft has listed out 13 start-up companies for its second batch of Windows Azure India program. Microsoft said that it listed out just 13 companies from the 350 applications received. All the received applications contained good ideas, education, mobile apps, healthcare, security and social networking solutions.
The 13 start-ups that were selected for the second batch of Microsoft Accelerator are Harness, Profoundis, Qubole, Label Guild, Tuebora, Visarity, Frintit, 360 Living, Deck App, Adepto, Support Bee, I7 Networks and TableGrabber.
The 13-start ups will be hosted in the state-of-art-Accelerator facility starting from March1. The program will be conducted in the Bangalore office of Microsoft. The companies will undergo a rigorous program for a period of four months under able mentors from Microsoft and also from other elite companies in the industry.
The CEO-in-residence of Microsoft Accelerator, Mukund Mohan, said that the company received applications from start-ups in Australia and Spain. He also said that it is a clear indication of strengthening of a global start-up trend. The program gained confidence and momentum after the first batch of 11-start ups benefitted from it in January. The company has now decided to conduct the program twice a year in two separate batches. Microsoft also has plans to extend the batch size and include a number of new start-ups.
The program originally started on September 3, 2013 with 11-start ups. Start-ups have ideas that are better, but they need assistance in certain critical areas to make it profitable. The Microsoft Accelerator program is designed specifically to focus on such areas. The companies have got to put in a lot of hard work to learn the business tactics.
