Jersey Boys the musical has taken the London West End by storm ever since it opened in 2008.

The jukebox musical features lyrics from Bob Crewe and tells the story of how four boys from New Jersey put their difficult pasts behind them to become one of the biggest selling bands of the rock and roll era.

That band is of course "Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons".

But Jersey Boys is far from a tribute to the famous American song makers. While all the boys hits are included, the show digs deep into the band member’s psyches and explores the unique relationships they have with each other.

The story moves from a heartfelt coming of age tale filled with mafia threats and personal tragedies to the stress of global stardom before the boys book their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Ryan Malloy, whose previous stage credits include Macbeth and Betrayal, portrays Valli perfectly while Jon Boydon, Eugene McCoy and Matthew Wycliffe play the roles of Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi and Bob Gaudio respectively.

At the time of writing Trip Advisor ranks Jersey Boys as the sixth best attraction of 781 attractions in London and it has an average review rating of five stars.

Charles Spencer of The Daily Telegraph described the show as being “phenomenal”, while veteran radio DJ Johnnie Walker said it is the “the best West End musical in years”.

Jersey Boys won the Olivier Award for ‘Best New Musical’ in 2009.

Oh what a night indeed.
